The book Art and Evolution is published by UMPRUM on the occasion of the jubilee of Professor Jindřich Vybíral. It is composed of texts by leading Czech and foreign art and architectural historians who, in their contributions published in Czech, Slovak, English and German, build on the work of the jubilant scholar in the broadest sense of the word: they reveal overlooked continuities and debunk the often misleading images of the "revolution" in 19th and 20th century art and architecture.

The classic book, representing a closed system, is accompanied by its potential evolutionary "successor": the digital tabula gratulatoria. In contrast to the printed publication, the Instagram page Festschrift_JV is open: anyone can contribute to it, at any time and from anywhere.
